We’re halfway through the summer, and what a summer we’ve had! If you’re anything like us you will have been absolutely loving the weather and the many food festivals across the UK giving us our foodie fix! But it’s not over yet; there are still some fantastic food festivals left to look forward to and we’re going to run you through our top 10!
Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival
This year marks the 11th Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival which has got bigger and better every year. A showcase of the very best of the South West’s seafood offerings from over 100 different stalls set around the idyllic Weymouth Harbour. From Assembelly with his Scallop laver bread and bacon roll to South Street Kitchen with their famous Crispy squid and chorizo with pickled vegetables and sesame seeds to Murray Mays with their fishy take on Kebabs cooked over their charcoal mangal grill. All of this scrumptious seafood washed down with a cold glass of Pommery Champagne makes for a wonderful day by the sea!
Devon Street Food Festival
10th – 12th August
Ilfracombe Victoria Pleasure Grounds
Rolling into it’s 3rd year, Devon Street Food Festival will be returning to Ilfracombe for another weekend of sensational street food and delicious drinks running 12-22:00. With a variety of vendors from all over the UK with cuisines to please every taste, expect offerings from Somerset’s The Doghouse, London’s 3 Little Pigs, Dorset’s Clark’s Kitchen and Devon’s very own Street Food South West, among many others. Carnaby Street Eat
Carnaby Street, London
A one-day street food festival in the heart of London’s West End running 12-7pm. With over 30 street food stalls from the area’s tastiest restaurants and eateries with live demo from experts- this is a taste experience not to miss out on! There’s something for everyone with £5 taster dishes all day and over 30 global cuisines – street food at it’s finest.
The Welsh Street Food Awards
Milford Waterfront, Milford Haven
The first ever Welsh leg of the British Street Food Awards comes to Milford Haven, West Wales. With an array of Welsh traders dishing up their mouth-watering street food on the waterfront to battle it out to win a place in the British Street Food Awards final in London in September. Not only can you enjoy the many different cuisines on offer from vendors such as Spicers Meat Wagon, Original Goodfillas and Mr Croquewich but you can have your say as to who will represent Wales. Free tickets available for registration so the lovely vendors don’t run out of their scrummy food!
The Big Feastival
Kingham, The Cotswolds
A fully family friendly event with an extensive street food offering with some of the hottest names in British street food. Taking place in Kingham, Oxfordshire The Big Festival has a lot to offer from music to celebrity chefs to pop up restaurants with a fantastic street food line up to satisfy that street food craving! Tobacco Dock, London
Founded in the US and brought to our shores, Meatopia is a festival of quality, ethically sourced meat, cooked over rustically sourced wood and charcoal by some of the world’s leading top chefs. A weekend love affair of meat, drink and fire Meatopia UK has become a legendary event for food lovers. Running 31st August to 2nd September this is a food event that will tickle the fancy of all meat lovers. Tickets still available!
Abergavenny Food Festival
Each year attracting over 30,000 people to the small Welsh town, Abergavenny Food Festival is in its 19th year. Over the years, the festival has attracted top food names such as: Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Jamie Oliver, Monica Galetti, Jane Baxter, Jose Pizarro and Valentine Warner, to name but a few. This year will be no different, with a variety of food experiences from cookery lessons to tasting workshops to forages and tours, all alongside delicious food, of course. Tickets available!
British Street Food Awards Final
21st – 22nd September
Canada Water, London
Showcasing the best of British Street Food with the winner of the regional heats all coming head to head in London. With the UK’s Street Food royalty all in one place for one weekend only this is truly the Street Food event not to miss. From gourmet burgers to melt in your mouth Mac and Cheese to vegan and vegetarian delights, you know the food will be out of this world. Tickets yet to be released – watch this space!
Narberth Food Festival
22nd – 23rd September
This year celebrating the 20th year of food celebrations in Narberth, expect a wealth of Welsh and local vendors serving their delicious offerings. Notorious in Wales for the high standard of the food on offer, if you are struggling to find your foodie fix this is one for you!
Dartmouth Food Festival
Dartmouth Harbour, Devon
Set up to showcase the best that the South West has to offer, Dartmouth Food Festival will be returning 19th-21st October in the picturesque town of Dartmouth. A wonderful array of foodie favourites will be on offer, and with entry free to everyone there is really no reason not to indulge yourself!
